IMPERFECT ("Factory Seconds") ACME LEADSCREWS FOR THE MINI-MILL
Yes, we have "oops" moments at times...
We are selling IMPERFECT ACME leadscrews (please check on availability) before ordering. These are still the precision Nook-branded 5/8"x8TPI leadscrews that we offer in our kits. We've turned then down to work with our kits.
So, what's wrong with these IMPERFECT ACME leadscrews? Take a look for yourself. The typical problem is that the finish is not as smooth as we would like them to be. They'll have a +0/-0.002 (max) shaft diameter as stock so either the bearings will fit fine and once installed, you'll never see the poor shaft finish, and/or the bearings will fit slightly loose (but still usable).
Having said that, the X-axis leadscrews work as a direct replacement for the stock leadscrew. Of course, you'll need to have a matching ACME leadnut for the leadscrew which you can make yourself or buy from us.
Note: Please check with us first to see if we have any in-stock.
X-Axis ACME Leadscrew - $29.95
Y-Axis ACME Leadscrew - $24.95
