It’s been a while since we’ve played with our Harbor Freight 7×12 mini lathe. We’ve seen the mounted DRO before on websites but this was the first time we saw it in person. It really has a nice feel and more importantly doesn’t take up space on the already travel-limited mini lathe.

The cool thing is they also offer it for the C3 and SC2. The difference between the two is the SC2 model has a brushless motor and is hence labeled “green”. And no more high low gear changes and plastic broken gears a la the X2 mini mill.
